What’s the source of that stat? Because at least one of the “x shootings in y days” included a guy who committed suicide in his car at 2am, but happened to be parked in a school parking lot when he did it, so it gets lumped in as a “school shooting” in that a “firearm was discharged on school property”.
I’m not saying school shootings are not a problem — they’re a big one. But let’s at least establish a basic framework for what constitutes one so we can address the root causes of actual student endangerment, and not over-react to things completely outside the control of the schools.
